Nowadays it is very difficult to find a man without mobile phone, iPod, iPhone or any other mobile devices. And the situation when the phone falls on the ground, floor or into the water could happen to anyone. Many people believe that if a cell phone got wet, then it’s time to buy a new one.
So what should we do in this situation? Get rid of the phone? No way! If you will act quickly, your phone may be save!
What should you do if your phone got wet?
1. Get it out of the water as quickly as possible
In this case, even a fraction of a second is important. 20 seconds is enough for full penetration of the liquid into the phone. 20 seconds is enough for full penetration of the liquid into the housing of the mobile device. Of course, it all depends on what kind of phone you have. Some mobile phones are designed to operate in difficult conditions and their interaction with water will not influence their work.
2. Remove the SIM-card and battery
You should remove the battery, even if your phone is switched off as soon as possible. Why you should do this? The answer is quite simple. You need to remove the battery to prevent short circuiting, and SIM card must be removed in order to save all the information on it.
After the battery was removed, you should wipe your phone battery connector with a soft cloth or cotton wool. You shouldn’t turn off your mobile with usual touch of a button, the battery should be removed immediately!
3. Take care of the covers and external connectors
Once you have removed the battery and the SIM-card – remove all covers and external connectors to open all the slits in the phone. In this way you will be able to remove the water that is inside the phone.
4. Drying of the phone
To dry the mobile, you should use a paper towel to remove moisture. You need to wipe it very carefully. And only after this the vacuum cleaner can be applied for drying. But you should remember, that vacuum cleaner can be applied no more than 15 minutes.
5. Residual drying using rice
When the phone is dry, put it into sealed container with rice at least for 24 hours. Rice can greatly absorb the remaining moisture.
